Vitamin D3 Dose-to-Target Calculator
Personalized from your baseline 25(OH)D, target, and body weight. Heaney-style serum-dose model with K2 + magnesium cofactor guidance.
§ EVIDENCE
Where the D3 evidence actually clusters
Raising 25(OH)D to a target range is where almost all the evidence for vitamin D3 clusters. Correcting deficiency (<20 ng/mL) produces the biggest downstream effects — hip-fracture reduction, fall prevention in the elderly, autoimmune-disease-incidence reduction (VITAL, HR 0.78), preeclampsia-risk reduction in pregnancy. Benefits in already-replete people are minimal.
The rule this calculator uses: ~100 IU/day raises 25(OH)D by ~1 ng/mL at 70 kg, scaled by body weight. Serum levels plateau in ~8–12 weeks. Retest at week 8 before adjusting.
